Coworth Park spa review

Inside the Berkshire Estate’s reimagined spa.

Coworth Park, the Dorchester Collection’s Berkshire property, is one of England’s most impressive country estates. Set in 240 acres of parkland, there are polo fields, tennis courts, croquet lawns, gardens that roll on for what feels like miles — and, should you want to make an entrance, a helipad.

We went for the newly reimagined spa, which completed an extensive refurbishment in 2025, offering a contemporary wellness space that still defers to its surroundings with the building’s grass-covered roof disappearing into the landscape rather than disturbing it.

What is Coworth Park’s spa like?

The pace here is unhurried by design. We took coffee from the spa café out to the loungers on the sun terrace, watching health club members drift past with the particular calm of people who spend a lot of time somewhere very pleasant. From there, the indoor pool, complete with underwater music, was ours alone for a stretch, with family hours ring-fenced separately.

The thermal suite comprises of a Finnish sauna, a citrine-lined steam room, experience and drench showers, and a snow room. Large amethyst crystals stand on plinths beside the pool. If there’s a gap, it’s the absence of a whirlpool, though it’s a minor omission in a space this considered.

The ishga Renewing Facial

Coworth Park works with an interesting range of skincare houses — Wildsmith, Made for Life Organics, Natura Bissé — but it was the ishga Renewing Facial (from £180) that I went for. ishga is a Scottish organic skincare brand built around seaweed hand-harvested from the waters around the Hebrides. My therapist was excellent, and, cliché as it is to say you leave a facial glowing, this time it went above and beyond.

The RLX Satori loungers

My husband stayed by the pool while I had my treatment, before we reunited to try the RLX Satori loungers — vibroacoustic beds that pair sound with physical vibration. He, a committed sound-bath convert, found them restorative. I tapped out after five minutes. Wellness is personal and this wasn’t for me.

Is Coworth Park spa worth it?

At under an hour from London, it delivers something rarer than a good spa day: the feeling of a countryside break without the commitment of one. We left restored and refreshed, and went straight on to afternoon tea in the manor house, which is a story in itself. (Read our Coworth Park afternoon tea review here.)
